Thanks for the photos. I now see that I have the low seat. Too low for me at 6 feet. I'm going to have to find myself a high one. Thanks again.

What is a "high" seat worth? I have both stock seats, I mounted a Sargent , it is about between the short & tall OEM's , and a-tad more narrow,.fits me perfectly.
For me, the 2 inches of extra height would be more comfy on my old knees. Sierra BMW has the seats at $257.02. For that price, I might just put a pillow under my arse!

I hear ya, I "get-it" in the knees as well, but more so in my hips. Just changed my foot pegs around again today..looking for some relief.
Does 1/2 new price + shipping sound fair?..for A perfect used one?

I've only owned my '04 for about a month and a half, but the low seat height was getting to me too. I just plopped down $143 for a used '04 OEM Rockster seat on ebay. I thought about saving the cash and using it toward a better aftermarket seat in the future, but I needed something now as my knees were aching in less than a 100 miles. I also needed price that was not going to create a "you spent how much on a seat?" discussion with my wife!
Although I've already paid in full - anyone have any feedback on the Rockser seat? Imagine it's not any more comfortable than the low - but I use a sheepskin for long trips anyway, so monkey butt or a sore ass is not so much as issue.

i'm 5' 7.5" with a 29/30 inseam and the standard height seat was a bit high. i rode around on it for about 6 months before getting the lower seat, which is more comforting when in tricky situations.
now i have a standard height seat if anyone needs one...

Hi there. Long story short:
Bio: 50 y/o. 6'0" tall with 32" inseam
2004 R1150R with low seat
Installed a 23"Parabellum Super TourShield that I couldnt see over
I was going to return it and have it cut down but my buddy picked up one if these for his KLR and I figured it might be worth a try

Worked well but my eyeline was right at the top of the windshield so I added some foam here and there and Wow! What a difference!
I can see great and the added height has stretched out my knees and hips some. Much more comfy
So, I guess the moral of this story is size matters
Good luck to you
