100 miles on her, and she's running perfectly. The oil still smells slightly burned, so at the 300 mile point (Monday) I'll do another oil change.

Another 100 miles yesterday running errands. 41 degrees, rainy and windy, but I didn't care. Took her out of the garage and right past the car, and off I went. Heated grips are working perfectly, and the bike runs so nicely. One thing that I have noticed, is 6th gear isn't the tall overdrive I have had on other R1150Rs. I need to research it. I thought in 04 they added the taller gear. My last dark blue and black motor R was really an overdrive. This only drops like 800rpm from 5th-6th.

The new job that had taken up all my time, has now run its contract out, so I'm back to riding more. And ebay shopping. Already planning on getting these:

In the medical field, we are always reminded to "look for uncommon presentations of common problems (like a dislodged throttle cable), as opposed to common presentations of uncommon problems (like a motronic unit failure)."

It is amazing that, once again, the dislodged throttle cable is the culprit!!

Enjoy the bike.

So, BTW, can you disclose how much you got the bike for? Sounds like a great purchase.

If it helps at all my 04 doesn't have a tall 6th either, but it will hit 120 in no time. Seeing that I do mostly highway driving if you find a tranny that will fit up let us know, it would be a nice upgrade.
