Took me a while to find a pic of with both my bike and face. I mostly ride alone, and in the pics that do exist of me and the R, I generally have a helmet on. So here's a shot of me looking strangely uncomfortable/stoic and also strangely beardless out near Sonora Pass. Pretty sure I'm saying something like "dude, you ride a GS - less photos and more riding, Mr. Adventure Rider!"



Also, thus far in our statistically very significant sample of three, we see that contrary to supposed popular perception, it's not just oldsters that ride Beemers.

Like Senor Hooligan, I could only find one pic of the bike and me with no helmet with what could pass for a smile... Taken about 2 minutes after it was delivered, before I'd ever swung a leg over it! Many more smiles since, but any that were recorded were hidden behind a helmet...

Oh - and I guess you can call this datapoint #4 in that statistically significant sample!

Faces make these photos much more interesting.

Yes, but a happy face on a happy day. We can all relate.

I ride alone too… but met a nice guy at Big Bend National Park last month (his V-Strom is in the background). We were camped near each other, and introductions led to a nice ride the following morning. Thanks to him, I now have a presentable picture of me and my bike.

Nice to see that there is a response to my call for faces!

Reposting this from the previous picture thread. On the right is Jim, also a forum member (faylo), with his white 2010. I met him by chance on the Blue Ridge Parkway last year. I go to the Parkway a lot. It's close enough for me to make it worth it for just 1-2 nights. I enjoy the combination of riding and hiking.

Are you an MOA member? They are looking for stories about 'Theme Rides'. I think you have the right material here, in case you feel inclined to write a story around it.

It's in the last ON magazine (January). They want 10+ pictures, 1500 words or less, and the contact email is [email protected] (no link provided).

I've got an '11 and can confirm that the Wunderlich hand guards fit just fine on mine.

Awesome, thanks for the tip. 'Twas the folks at Wunderlich who told me it was a no-go - says so on their site, and when I emailed, they confirmed. I've been meaning to head down there (Wunderlich America is a just a nice couple hour ride down the coast) and check 'em out in person, because I didn't believe it.

I can second that, they do fit the '11 bikes! Takes about 10 mins..

They do not seem to work, but when I rode my new '11 machine without them I was surprised how much colder my hands became.

I feel like such a chump now. They totally look like they'll work - shoulda just got 'em. I have Barkbusters on my bike now, but would prefer the stealthy clear-ness of these. Putting 'em on the list. Thanks guys!
