I truly do not know the right words to say thank you to all of you. As of today, I've still had no new information on the search for my father. I am planning to travel to Virginia next week to be with my sisters and we are driving over to the area where my dad's car was found. I believe that we are also hoping to meet with the authorities in charge of the search while we are there. I will update you all if I hear any news. Again, thank you for your support. My dad is a very lucky man to have so many people that care about him. Thank you.

I need good news.

Oh man...I scarcely could believe this was real as I read it.

There has been no new news about Cam's disappearance. Last Thursday, I accompanied Mike's family to WV where we met with the WV authorities who are conducting the search and investigation from that end. They took us to the spot where Cam's car was found on on June 27, and we walked the trail far enough to see where it split into different directions. The search that began June 28 is ongoing, but on a more limited basis. Hikers in the area are being asked to watch for any signs of Cam. But there has been no trace of him.

Very eerie feeling when I see this. Been too long......

I bought his BMW electric vest a few years ago. He sent it and just told me to send him a check if I liked it or send it back.
That impressed me.

God help him.

I thought it would be cool to post up fun facts about Mike. Post yours, but as Mike mentioned to me once that he values his privacy, please avoid truly personal facts in this public domain.

Here are mine:
1. a member of R1150r.net since July 7th, 2002!

4. holds one of the highest ranks as a "Centurion" (meaning he donated 4x lifer memberships), ALTHOUGH with his insanely generous donations he could actually be a "Duodecuple" (12x) lifer. I think he kept the Centurion title 'cause he liked the sound of it, and it provided humorous competitive banter between him and Gypsyrr (who is a "Centurionette").
5. in 2008 (during the recession when the site needed it most), he donated a Yamaha xt225 motorcycle to the site to drum up new memberships and donations via a raffle!! He is by far the most generous person we've had on the site.
6. owns the rights to "Mid-Atlantic Beaksters" (anyone know more about this?)
7. favorite online quote: "The Older I Get, The Less I Know."

When I came in 2nd place on the raffle on the Yamaha, Mike was not satisfied with sending only a T-Shirt. He rummaged through his garage and sent me a goodie box full of farkles along with the shirt.

In the goodie box was a Jet Boil that is still performing flawlessly.

I have never met Mike. As a newbie on the site a few years back, I PM'd Mike with a newbie question and he was very polite and thorough and forth coming with very useful information. I was very thankful and impressed with his knowledge.

MikeCam coached me through a lot of maintenance and riding techniques for my R1150R when I first bought it. All of that coaching helped me to become a better motorcycle rider and owner. He also had a knack for reminding us of facts, and not rumors or hysterias when it came to our BMW's.

MikeCam was essential in the organization on the second Ozark Bash in 2008. I would not/could not have done that modest feat without his encouragement and help, though he did not attend. Another non-attendee, who was essential in the execution of the mini-bash was Gypsy.

I was an active bidder in the raffle for the Yahama X225 he donated to the site, and I was pretty sure I would win it. I had not solved the problem that multiple m/c's were banned in my household at the time (and may still be banned?), which was my biggest worry. I needent have worried.

Tho I never met him in person, I consider him a friend.

Any update on this?

I first met Mike while doing some recon for the Bartow, WV Bash back in late '04. The Mid Atlantic Beaksters are a group of people on here who get together and ride motorcycles. Sometimes just meeting up for lunch usually in a convenient place like West Virginia, and other times doing a long weekend of camping and motorcycling. I have heard nothing new regarding Mike.
