Spoke to them yesterday about my ABS module initialization failure (at startup, in the colder temps, battery dips below 9v) and they agreed to send me the 21a for the difference in price between it and the 18a I was using in my GS.

Hope this helps someone,
I had a chance to speak with Dave today at the new york motorcycle show, very nice and knowledgeable guy he is one of the tech guys from shorai. I explained to him the issues i have with cold start and he agreed to exchnage my battery for the newer model that came out recently all i have to pay if the price difference between the two.
Here is what happened, according to him they used to source parts from Japan, then the disaster happened and they forced to obrain some parts from samsung and possibly ohter places so some batteries because of it had cold start issues, because the modules in them would not recharge 100%, at least this is a short explanation we spoke for a while.
so anyway i will be getting the newer 21 model of the battery

So i got the 21A battery and installed it today, first the battery almost does not require any padding its bigger in size, second it works much better, while it is not that cold in NY now, but my previous battery would take 2-3 cranks to start, 21a, started right away.

Very happy here :)

Another Update, its almost like a blog lol
today in the morning was low 30's, with a new battery the bike started on the first try no more, warming the battery first.
thumb up to Shorai for identifying a problem and replacing it
