My E92 328Xi in Montego Blue is named Meadow so go figure.

I guess that my search skills on r1150r.net are not up to snuff - perused the site looking for pics that would show what tie-wraps to cut near the steering head. No luck. So with cabin fever raging, I went to the basement, looked at my '03 r1150r and decided that it *had* to be the most forward pair of tie wraps - a thick tie wrap strapped to the mount bracket of the horn. As I rotated the handlebars, it became apparent that these ties acted as a hinge and could eventually fatigue/cut copper. Has someone found the forum topic with pics for this?
So I elected to cut these tie-wraps from their posts and use smaller tie-wraps without strapping them to the steering head posts. For the right side, I combined these wires with the brake line (as was similarly done by BMW further back). For the left side, they free float with a single tie-wrap. Now as I rotate the handlebars, both wire sides sweep uniformly.

Also purchased the beemerboneyard fuel quick-disconnects but that'll have to wait until I can get the bike outside to siphon out the fuel....

moonbeemer - thank you - that's it. I should have searched for "zip ties" not tie wraps. I had found the right ones to remove but upon reading this post elected to remove even the ones that I put on.
I really do like my 1150r. And the only real blessing of winter is that I get to fiddle with the bike. I did the canisterctomy, put in the Kisan SignalMinder, and am now toying with how best to hardwire a Nuvi 550.

If I remember right someone said earlier it was a recall item or something of the sort. Dealership should have been able to take care of it for you but it looks like you've taken care of it.
