Alf,
I can't make my mind up on that look. At first I think no...but I keep coming back to look at it some more. It looks like a short GS. Do you have any pictures of the bike with the GS beak and the Roc tank? I would like to see how the lines match up. All in all, a great effort and very, very original.

Right now I'm in a bit of a holding pattern. Researching the best wheel options and best way to set-up the front; GS tubes/roc lowers with GS brace, GS front end (complete) or rockster forks, GS bridge and less clearance for the front wheel. Have a GS oil cooler, trying to figure out where to mount that, will keep the cooler covers on the side and place lights inside. Rear will get upgraded shocks, GS torque arm. Will probably leave ABS alone for now, may end up removing in the future.
I guess I want to start slow and make sure I don't change the ride quality to drastically. This bike is my primary transportation. As soon as I dive in, I'll post. So many gret ideas posted.

Jas: Believe me when I say just buy an R11XXGS rather than mess around with the Rockster. It’s much much easier to fit 17” wheels to the GS than it is to fit 19/17” wheels to the Rockster. My “easy” project has ended up costing a small fortune and it’s still not finished. Whilst I’ve enjoyed working on the bike and certainly have a unique bike, it’s been a money pit
RB: No ABS and Hi
Roxster: The GS front subframe, instrument cluster and oilcooler were already fitted to the bike when I bought the project. No original Rockster parts were supplied so I can’t go back. The look has grown on me. Originally I tried a wunderlich front panel but that really was an "acquired taste"

Hi Alf - I thought that might be you.
Has to be said that the first pic you put up makes the bike look like a GS with collapsed shocks!
Hope it's running well, what happened to your old GS?
oh - and who was the other total freakin weirdo nutjob who wanted to take a Rockster off-roading????

Think of my bike as a sports GS
You’d have to be mad to take a GS offroad never mind a Rockster
Do we have UK Rockster meets? Does such a thing exist

oops - so you did.
There was a couple of Rockster meets - I might do another this year if I get around to it.
