My new 1200 is exactly the same...headlight pointing to the tree tops.
Not sure why this is set this way....I've driven in the blackness of the Smoky Mtns and the light was plenty. Just couldn't understand why so much in the tree tops.
You guys didn't grow up driving 1960 Honda CB's did ya !
