Glad you got the bike repaired without too much fuss.
Simple Green is a good degreaser, but may be too rough on the fabric since I believe it's acidic. I have had very good results using SHOUT! (sorry, couldn't resist), let it soak in for a while and then wash with normal soap and rinse thoroughly.

Hope it works. If not, maybe Morton's would spring for dry cleaning?

been there done that. I now keep a few of those gaskets around if I even imagine they are getting worn or hard. When it happened to me and I had to ride home from work--about 40 miles, I was glad I had synthetic oil in the bike, believing all of those old ads that ran car engines completely devoid of measurable oil. I put a big plastic bag over my left leg to keep it from getting even more soaked--and soaked it was, dripping oil soaked.

It soaks you pretty good, doesn't it.

btw, I think the dealer should be very embarrassed about this. This is not a sophomore mistake, it is a freshman one. When that gasket is not seated properly and the engine is run, oil appears immediately, if one looks. They did mess up and it might be worthwhile for them to pick up the cleaning bill of your expensive pants. It is worth asking, but I would check with aerost to see if they can be safely dry cleaned

BTW, there was some contentiousness regarding whether to reuse those oil seals in the exact same orientation so that the dimpled part always lines up the way it did before, or to rotate them to put a fresh, flat surface under the "dimpler". I did it both ways a couple valve adjustments ago, and had some leakage under the one that wasn't rotated. I don't think you can get it lined up perfectly to exactly match the "dimpler" on the head, and any mismatch is exacerbated by the fact that there are already dimples in the seal, so it appears that it's better to rotate the seal by 90 degrees and then you can reuse it up to three times. I got 18,000 miles out of my first set that way (until it the one I didn't rotate leaked, then I replaced both of them and the outer gaskets).
