It's a Torx-25, had to dig one out today to install a heated clothing pigtail on a friend's R1200GS..

The 2009 bikes must be different. Both of my terminal screws are phillips. Then again, my turn signal wire couplers are the new sealed version versus the spade type. I know this because I just ordered L.E.D blinkers and checked to see if I needed the wiring harness.
