Congratulations, as the rest of the guys say, you're going to love the bike. One hint: When I fly somewhere to rent a bike, I usually take the bag liners as luggage and leave the suitcase at home. I take the armor out of pants and jacket and nest them in the bags which makes the road gear much more compact when packing. Obviously works on the road as well.

@--->Amosthere : I agree logically and by principal but I also noticed that sometimes in Los Angeles...with a big smiley and self confident face they make you think that they know how to do the job just to get your money. Then when they start the work you can't even understand what they are doing or you discover them completely stuck on your stuff after 2 hours.

No ! I am looking for an independent BMW mechanic... I heard there is a few in Long Beach by the way.

Well I still think that riding a black R1200R in a black Tuxedo
is probably the best way to reach attention and eventually increase conspicuity.
