There was a time where I was very excited about the mirrors with the built-in turn indicator lights on the front side so that opposing traffic would clearly see my turn signal. I believe they are similar to something offered on some Ducati models but I don't have the link to the version that fits other bikes. I suppose it depends on what your objective is...

Those MFW mirrors are only available trough the MFW american distributor called Eurotech Motorsports located in Chico California to which I gave a call this morning but they told me that they were no longer their distributor since precisely YESTERDAY

So ! this sound like a Saga... I know...
but is anyone aware of those mirrors ? do they fit the R1200R ?
Do you know someone that sell it ?

Now it might sound a bit "Gadget" but they are German design not Italian... so it might be functional and intelligently designed as a fine working and good sturdy looking German production.

Since I see no GPS mounts in this thread - I'm thinking - just perhaps - you might have better luck starting a NEW thread with the subject - R1200R GPS mount?

If you look at the head on shots of posted by Bobby, you can clearly see a GPS unit mounted on the clutch side bar.

I have seen mirror mounted turn signals that I like. The ones on the R1200S and on several Suzuki's look nice but those on the Kawasaki shown on this thread are not doing it for me. For the time being I am very happy with the looks and functionality of my R1200ST mirrors. Mine do not vibrate.

Finding a good example of an R1200S mirror was harder than I thought.
These mirrors just look like they belong on the bike.

I purchased the Napoleon bar end mirrors based on the description and photos in this thread. They were $31.99 each and free shipping from http://www.motosport.com/street/product ... gId=110836 for a total of $63.98 and about 30 minutes of installation time. You have to "flip" one of them to be the left mirror by removing the internal bolt and rotating the stalk 180 degrees. The installation on my 2008 R1200R was pretty simple. The mirrors come with a longer bar guard bolt. You simply remove the original bar guard bolt and thread the whole thing together with the longer bolt and tighten. I did notice that out of the box the mirrors left a centimeter gap between the end of the bar guard and the mirror base which left the mirror loose even though I tightended it down. To remediate this I put on two black rubber washers to act as spacers which did the trick (see attached photo circled in red).



I like how these mirrors lower the visual profile of the bike as well as clean up the forward visual field. The rear visual field is improved because I can see more to the left and right behind me without half a mirror of elbow. Thank you BobbyLeBout and everyone else for contributing to this thread.

I put about 1000 miles on with the Napoleon bar ends mirrors. Over time I noticed that at higher speeds on the freeway (70-80 MPH) I picked up a slight front wobble felt in the handle bars that I didn't get with the stock mirrors. This last weekend I replaced the Napoleon's with the stock mirrors and rode the same freeway to test and sure enough the wobble was gone. Without any more scientific proof than that, I concluded that these non-aerodynamic mirrors at the extreme end of the handle bars were causing some kind of harmonic vibration. I really like these mirrors but they don't feel safe to me at higher speeds. Has anyone else using the Napoleons noticed similar behavior?

OK, my initial impression, based on about 25 freeway miles and 70 in the mountains, is very favorable. Compared to the stock Mickey Mouse ears, these are very solid. Minimal vibration or blurriness (is that a word?), none really noticeable at any RPM above idle. The stalks are somewhat shorter and flatter than the original's. Compared to the Wunderlich bar-ends I have removed, larger viewing area and way less vulnerable while lane-splitting. The oval shape provides a better field of view than the stock items. As far as aesthetics, judge for yourselves. I like the look. I noticed another member paid $87 for these from Chicago BMW last year. Three weeks ago they cost me about $108, same source.

I know you probably told us but I didn't see it, do those mirrors thread into the stock brackets or do they come with a new bracket all their own?
