Good news Tom.
I love the tales of R's with massive mileage and they still run like animals. 69k! Awesome.
I had a Suzuki that I did not want to ride anymore when it reached 50k. It just "felt" worn out.

When I tested the bike in the parking lot my diagnostics pointed to component failure. The starter cranked the engine fine, eliminating any poor connection problem -but- there was no fuel pump activation or spark at the plugs. Those malfunctions mean it's the Hall sensor. Well, the Hall sensor and the fuel pump will not work if the Motronic is not alive (ungrounded), but how was I supposed to figure that out? As it turned out, the long ride in the soaking rain had nothing to do with Tom's bike's failure. It was all about a ground wire terminal bolt that wasn't tightened enough many days/weeks before.
Add this experience to our memory banks when we go deep to install 12V powered farkles.

FWIW--
Rob---Can't think of anyone else I would rather have troubleshooting my bike than you.
If mine ever leaves me stranded on the road-side I hope I'm close to where you live!
