Alaska Leather sheepskin Butt pad is a nice thing. Rain gear, cause it always rains when you are on the bike.

Never forget to throw a couple of imodium in the tankbag.

Fellow Riders:

A million comedians out of work, but everyone one's a comic!
Seriously, I am very excited about the trip. Also, saw fellow BMW rider and celebrity Alton Brown in Memphis this last weekend. Really got me inspired for this trip!

One last question: I have been looking at the Olympia riding gear. Any takes on this? Or other riding gear tips. My own tip is to get a Buff and put an extra one in a bag. These are indestructible, keeps you cool and warm. A great peice of equipment. Check them out at http://www.planetbuff.com.

Thanks again for the advice and entertainment.

you do need to check your antifreeze in the radiators. Although with summer rapidly approaching I doubt you will find many sub-freezing temps. So you're probably ok.
No, no, no! This time of year you need to take the antifreeze out and replace it with coolant.

texasesq - re the Olympia stuff: here is a review I posted on this site some time ago. I am still wearing the same outfit with no issues.

Also, check out the advrider.com site under the Equipment forum. Lots of threads about their gear and generally positive.
