That was my concern after my test ride. The bike feels very "small". Did you get over this feeling?
I am enjoying my R1200R after trading in my '03 1200cc Harley Sportster (solid mount) for it. To me, the R felt both taller and lighter. I've gotten used to the taller, and the "lighter" is a sheer delight!

Interesting responses, especially about the cross-winds. I thought this bike would get thrown around more than the bigger bikes. I will continue to research this bike and take another longer test ride.

Less "sail" area. If you look at the bike in profile - it's a very open bike. Not a lot of sail area to catch the wind. Weight alone won't take care of the problem..

Try the old "I swear this is the last new bike I'll ever buy". That one has worked for me three times.

The last time I bought something expensive I didn't tell her for a couple of weeks. When I eventually came clean, she was more pissed (grumpy, for all you non-Aussies) at me not telling her than for the actual purchase. I'm still not sure if this was a good thing or not. Anyway, she was cool with the bike. She knew that if I loved it I was going to buy it.

I think SWMBO stopped believing that about 10 bikes and 40 cars ago..

What can I say - I'm a sucker for anything with an engine that has wheels on it. :)
