I had a stalling problem with my 2005 R1150R, in the town traffic only, very seldom, normally when turning.

Last week I was at my mechanic (not BMW official) and I told him about that for the first time (I take the bikes to BMW for scheduled service).

He said: "May be I know what is the problem". He removed the pilot seat, putted his hand under the gas tank, and smiled, and said "I got it!".

To make a long story short, the problem was a loose wires connection to one pole of the battery.....

It has been a short time since then, but so far no problems.

May be he really got it.

Ciao,

You may have a failing Coil as well...I'd experienced the same issue with Japanese bikes when they got hot the coil stopped firing.

You may want to see if you have spark on your plugs when the bike dies....

Problem Solved? I took the bike to my dealer. They just called me and informed me that I had a frayed ignition wire (tear in rubber housing). It was white around the wire, etc. New part ordered. I will keep everyone informed of my progress.
