I have his headlight protectors on my R1150RT ($600 for a new glass!!!) and my R1100R.
He also does nice kits for paintwork which I have on my metal tanked R1100R...can't even see it

Has anyone installed any sort of headlight protection on their bike? While I was out this weekend I noticed several small cracks in the lens of my headlight. I suppose where rocks have hit.

Just ordered Xpel headlight film ($15) for the recently acquired R1200R headlamp. I was going to put 2" cut-outs on my MotoLights too but the MotoLight guy said the 1/4" thick tempered glass is too tough to bother with - and replacements lenses are only $14.00/ea.

I ran the Cee Bailey hardshell velcro-on stuff on my '03 GoldWing (a $650 double-headlight arrangement) without a problem but, later, discovered Xpel headlight film. It went on my my 1987 Carrera headlights (replacement lenses are rather dear IF you can find them) and foglights a year ago and nary a problem. As mentioned above it goes on easily with a hair dryer and a tiny bit of bubble-squeezing patience if you read the instructions. It dries out virtually invisible. Xpel film is the cheapest insurance I know about.

So the 9" x 9" square piece of Xpel film arrived in the mail. Calling Xpel headlight grade material "film" is akin to calling limestone "whipped cream".

I had a bowl that was 1/16" shy of the headlight diameter so I used that to trace my circle. I was hoping a hair dryer would soften and reform the film enough that it would make the bend around the bottom 1/3 of the headlight cover. No such luck. I was busily spraying alcohol water and mashing and forming while Mrs. Moo aimed the hair dryer and it just wasn't getting it done. I ran in the house, grabbed the scissors and, by a miracle, eyeballed- and hand cut out a little pie-shaped gusset in the six o'clock position that formed the film perfectly across the fairly deep bend on the headlight cover. It helps that I've made a lot of gussetted patterns in my work, I guess. Job done in five minutes. It looked pretty darn near pefect. It will take something armor-piercing to bust this lamp.

If I can find the missing pie piece of Xpel I'll post the cut dimension for those who wish to follow suit. It might save someone some aggravation. My unverified guess - 1/2" at the bottom and two inches tall. Photos follow.
