I have both the bar-backs and an aftermarket windshield. These are always subjective but for me I would not ride without either.
I am 6' tall and my riding style and posture is decidedly more touring than sport. I bought my bike with the BMW sport shield and replaced it in short order. I have a Aeroflow screen (tall) with the tank wings and am very happy with the product. I cannot remember the brand of bar-backs. I can ride until I have to fill the tank up without problems in my wrist, butt or neck!! Though it is nice to stretch the legs for 5 minutes or so... Then I am ready for another stretch of road!!
For the type of screen I have see aeroflowscreens.com. I know I do not have either the GenMar or the Wunderlech barbacks. Maybe SW Motech but that is off the top of my head...

I like the look of the sport screen, wish I could get it to work for me with a laminar lip or similar device. The Aeroflows are a bit pricey... but look like a quality product.
