Hard Cases

Post by celticus »

Last week while packing for a rally I lifted my left side hard case out of the closet and noticed a small metallic object sitting on the top near the handle. Turns out this was a pin that goes through the handle and holds it to the latching mechanism. I was lucky it had remained on the top. It was only a minor annoyance finding a new cir-clip (e-clip) to fit it. I suspect what caused it to fall out was a friend's examination of the " Cool New Bags " from the weekend before.
This might be worth while to pay attention to.
Another thing. I have been using my luggage quite alot lately and what with the wife getting on and off it is getting scratched up some. Is there some sort of invisible plastic sheet I could apply to the top to protect it?

Bag Covers

Post by danstl »

If you do a Google searh, 3-m makes a number of products. I had bags done on a 05 RT by a company that also did window film. You couldn't see the product at all and it washed and waxed like paint. You could remove it with a heat gun if you wanted. I did not want to do this myself because I would have had my hand glued to the bags. I don't remember exactly what it cost, but it wasn't much.
