Yup, I fall into this category. I've bought a DVD of Speed Racer and have enjoyed watching it reminiscing about my childhood.

Amazing how quickly you grow up and start to get old :?

I fall into this category too. For some reason, I never really liked Speed Racer. I know that show has a good following now, but I still can't stand him. I used to have a Lancelot Link lunchbox back in elementary school. You know, the metal lunchbox with the thermos inside that always broke when you dropped it! I'll bet those are worth some money nowadays.

Others that I remember: Ultraman; Johnny sokko and his flying robot; and the classic schoolhouse rock cartoons, that tried to teach us stuff.

I think HR Pufnstuf was a strange show, but I still managed to watch it. I miss Lancelot Link - a good show, especially when they broke out and the rock band played.

This all brings back good memories of when life was much simpler, even for kids.

and for the record, the "new" Johnny Quest cartoons that came out maybe 10 years ago were pathetic compared to the original version.

"Razzle Dazzle" "Astro... Boy"..? I've never heard of these shows either.... I'm not sure if it's a regional thing or an age thing...

Not a different continent Harry, just a different year or two.

There was a lot more variety on during "Saturday Morning Cartoon" then, and a lot of shows only lasted a year or two.

Your also right in that some shows may have been local as we watched a lot of local network TV stations back then, like:

Ray Raynor's Morning Show & Garfield Goose from WGN - Chicago
BJ & Dirty Dragon from WFLD -Chicago
Captain Ernie's Showboat from WOC TV 6 (now KWQC) - Davenport, IA

Hadn't seen it before, but I liked Colonel Bleep.... a bit heavy on the narration and they could have done more with the characters. But it was for children after all.

Ahh, but Bugs:-) You just can't do any better than Bugs Bunny.

He continues to rank #1 for the greatest cartoon characters of all time.
