Has anyone here given any thought to putting a shorter or longer torque arm on their R1200R? From what I understand a shorter one makes the steering quicker , the bike length slightly shorter and the bike slightly taller. The opposite with a longer torque arm. You can buy billet arms at the pirates lair and most likely other places. I see this being disscussed over on the Pellican R1100/1200s site.

Torque Arm

I think a longer one would make the bike steer quicker. On the old models the arm as at the bottem therefore a shorter one would quicken up the steering but with the new R1200?? models the arm is on the top so a longer one will make the bike stand more on it's nose and make the steering quicker or am I missing something?

Some people wit hthe R1150R's put on the GS torque arm which did what you expected - raised the bike slightly and changed the steering angle. I'm not sure about making the bike noticeably shorter. You may want to look into the 1200GS arm and see if that's something to try.

From what I gather on the pelican R1100?R1200S site

the sorter toque arm makes it taller and qicker steering. The GS arm is one way folks have been going.

I had a GS torgue arm on my R1100S(shorter so rear end goes up and quickens up the steering), but a shorter arm on the R1200R/S/ST/GS will have the opposite effect imo. R1200?? drivetrain is very different to the R11**?? drivetrain.
Look at this picture and you can see that a shorter arm will make the bike lower and longer.
