I just found this website the other day, and thought you guys might be interested in it, if you haven’t already been using it. It is a free program (but kind of slow) that allows you to map your routes and then upload photos or other information to it later. And you can share it and allow others to add to it, or you can keep it private. It can be viewed in just a regular map view or a hybrid like Google Earth.
I’m hoping that when you guys go on rides during the Bash in Marlinton that you will log the routes on a map like this so the rest of us can ride them if we ever make it out that way. Upload photos too, so we can enjoy the Bash vicariously.
Here is an example of a map I did for a ride I took Sunday. I didn’t take many pictures because the traffic didn’t allow many stops, but it will give you an idea of what you can do with the map. And another map of my planned route to the Hill Country of Texas next Sunday with photos I took of the area last year.

Try the links again. Maybe I had to be logged out before the pics can be viewed. OR - sometimes it takes a minute or two for the photos to load, but you can still view the map while you wait - zoom in real close on the Hill Country map and you will see me riding on FM 337 out of Leakey toward Camp Wood.
To map a route, go to http://www.communitywalk.com and register (free). Then click "create a map" and use the little wizard box that displays to get started and then click on 'start a path'. Just keep adding points along the route and when you are done, click 'save' and the points disappear and you see only the path/route. Then later you can click 'add a marker' and that is when you upload photos or links to restaurants, sights, lodging etc.
Please do make some maps of where you ride. I would like to start collecting motorcycle riding maps for when I begin my 'tour'.

Good site, GypsyRR. I made a run for a lottery ticket Sunday (yeah, I know the odds, but it's my excuse for a decent ride that Judy condones). So I used that one for practice. No pics, I'm afraid. Maybe next time.
I always reset my odometer when I fill up the tank. So I didn't realize I went 222 miles!
I'll be using this program. Thanks.
