Used Ohlins shocks...worth it?

Someone is advertising used Ohlins front + rear with 7k miles on them for $750. Anyone think it's worth it? Or should I keep saving for new ones...?

I think I would hold off. For $400 more you can get a set of Wilbers set to your weight and riding style, whereas the Olhins would have to be dialed in to your size and style. My $.02 worth

I went with a pair of used ohlins. They where better than stock shocks with 16000 miles. Had some down time between my 2003 and 2004 R1150R's. I sent the shocks back to Ohlins for rebuild cost another $600.00 because the pre-load adjuster had to be rebuilt. Normal rebuild runs about $100.00 per shock and recommended at or around 20,000 miles. To revalve, adjust for load and riders weight, was around $100.00 per shock.
I really like the shocks. Give a great ride feel and are very good in hard corning, haddeling response.
Hope this helps, prices are a quess as my memory is not all that good. I would call and speak to the Ohlins repair, very helpfull folks.

I put new Ohlins on my Rockster with only 21K miles on the OEM shocks (wanted to have some miles left on the OEMs for the down time rebuilding the Ohlins).

Feels like a new bike. Amazing.

I'd say that it sounds like a good deal... might be worth inquiring as to WHY they're being sold, though.

I am no suspension expert. But I have a good friend who is. He says Ohlins and Penseke are a superior product than the Wilbers. Better design and materials.

$750 for a set of front & rear Ohlins with only 7000-miles? I'd jump on that in a heart beat. A brand new set will cost double that.

Unless you're extremely heavy, you don't need any new spring. As far as "adjusting" to your riding style, that's why it's an Ohlins. It comes with a great range of adjustments for your riding preference.
