Hey, Phil:

It looks like he has the TEXas lone star on his Santa hat. Could it be? Could Santa really be a Texan? :o

Hey! You're right! I didn't even notice that.

That Santa may be from Texas, but he's not the nice rotund happy Santa of my childhood.

Well, he must be from Dallas then. I'll tell you how I know:

1) He is not rotund. I think Houston has made "fattest city" about 4 out of the five last years. Dallas people are much more svelte like that Santa appears.

2) He wants you to spend money. Dallas prides itself in it's money. Kind of pretentious (not all of them, just a general feeling of other Texans about them)

3) He just isn't acting very much like a Texan in that picture. Where's the hospitality? Most Texans think of Dallas as not even belonging in Texas. They are sort of the New York of the south.

4) I don't see any dip, tobacco or bar-b-que in his teeth.

Yep, he's from Dallas.

But he looks like he may be missing a few teeth, and also could use some orthodontic work. So where does that place him -- Kentucky?

I was wondering when someone was going to use the word "pejorative" here. My comments on Christmas have fallen into that vein for many years now. Bah. Humbug.

Time for everyone to watch the Charlie Brown Christmas special, to understand the real meaning of Christmas.
