First aid kits - who carries them?

I saw this post on a local forum and it was great that:
1) This rider (The Dude) had a decent first aid kit with him on the bike and
2) he knew what to do

I think he had some basic medic training from the U.S. Military, but not oo many people would jump into an accident like this.

I carry a small camping FA kit in my tankbag and hope that I never need it, but I'm not sure I could fully take advantage of what it has to offer except bandaids.

This post below kind of woke me up and makes me think I should get in to take some basic EMT training.

I carry one with me all the time. I keep essential stuff in my kit, not enough to do trauma care, but enough to treat some mild road rash. In fact, that's precisely what I stock in my kit, all the stuff you would need to handle some mild road rash well enough to get on down the road and seek out better care, if needed. Bandages, tape, wound cleaning pads, sterile ointment, things like that.
