system cases

Does anybody know where I can find used or discounted ones for my 2004 R1150R. Also, are any other cases compatible, like RTs or RSs?

Only the GS ones are compatible...I think...and the RT/RS ones except for the fullsize left (which you can fit if you lower the exhaust or remove the can)

I got mine off of E-Bay from Hammersley BMW. Paid just over $700 shipped. I thought it was a good deal.

If you look around on the various BMW boards you should be able to get a deal on some used bags less than $450 for the pair.

You might also try e-bay. Set up a personalized search for Ã¢â‚¬Å“bmw system caseÃ¢â‚¬Â or some such, and you will get an e-mail on a daily basis with any new auctions. These usually attract a fair amount of attention, so bargains might be hard to find. Sometimes, there will be a listing with a Ã¢â‚¬Å“buy it nowÃ¢â‚¬Â price (thatÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s how I found mine). $400 - $450 seems to be the going price on e-bay. You can probably find a better deal if you are patient.

Bob's BMW in MD sells the cases fully outfitted (locks/reflectors/emblems) at a discount also. I think under $600.

You might be able to get them to key your locks also if you send them a key.

Much like paroyboy, I bought mine brand new from my dealer. Cases, reflectors, BMW roundels and ignition keyed, mine were $721 installed including taxes. I briefly considered buying used from the 'net but by the time you pay shipping, and the new lock works I'm not sure you'd save that much.

This is all good advice. I just started looking for a slightly used left system case.
Lost mine on an eight-day trip that ended last week.
I haven't posted anything in any "Wanted" columns yet, but have hit most of the sites listed above.
I guess you just have to keep at it and get lucky.

Matter of fact I've just had the bike less than a month and so far I've bought all my accessories at half price or less.

Signal Minder, Bags, got two sets of side rails coming (one plain, one with the rack attachment) and a magnetic tank bag. The only thing I paid full price for is a Storage Pod and oil filters.

Heck, I've even sold $200.00 worth of unused stuff lately so, one thing I'm not doing is mucking around.

you're lucky, Cotton ... I'm searching all the usual spots for system cases. Seems like they're a little hard to come by used or discounted. I'll keep searching, I want them but I can wait for a good deal.

That's a good idea. System Cases do come on often...have you looked in:

You can usually find some there, though make sure you look under parts as well as accesories; some people put them in parts and others post in accessories. I think there is a set there right now actually.
