paint match for plastic silver parts

Post by Billerbeck »

Has anyone found a good paint match for repainting plastic silver parts on a R1150R such as the luggage rack?

silver paint match

Yes, there is a match made by Duplicolor, or something like that. If you search this site for "duplicolor" you should be able to find it.

Dupli-Color DSGM340 silver metallic. Available at Walmart and Advance Auto, probably a bunch of other places as well.

Jamie, thanks for the input . . . I found the threads that you mentioned . . . but the impression I got was that Duplicolor DSGM340 was really a match for the engine, transmission, rear end silver paint. I am looking to repaint a luggage rack and rear seat eliminator which are kind of a semi-gloss or flat silver. Any other thoughts?

Yes, that paint matches engine/transmission. You might look for an aluminum color paint. That sounds closer than the paint I have already mentioned.

finally tracked down the touch up paint i used that matches very well.

honda

universal black in the same color is great for the non matte black parts.

i also picked up a matte black pen, but haven't used it yet. these applicators have rollerball and brush which is nice.

My rear rack is marked too. I was going to get a can of spray that the auto trade use to freshen up skuffed wheels/trims and do the whole piece.
