I have 24 kms on my 04 R
I know it's normal for the pipes to turn blue shortly after riding it off the lot.
I recently noticed that the left pipe is a deeper/more pronounced purple/blue that the right one (coming off the cylender head, near the bottom bend).
I thought I read somewhere that this is a sign that one cylender is running hotter than the other.
Anyone know if this is true?
The TB's were sync'd last month at the 20k km service.

Don't get psyched out by the colours. While large differences at the headers can indicate different running temps and fuel mixes, mine seem to change all the time regardless of where I am between servicings. Depends on other factors such as humidity, ambient temperature, how hard the bike is working, city or country running, and a whole heap of other stuff. Mine have changed from a deep blue/black to a clear gold , all in the space of a single trip! I don't even worry about the colours any more.
