TOR or MOA Meet-Up

Post by swamper »

Anyone here making plans for next summer. =D> Over on the Pelican forum the 1100S guys are talking about a Meet-Up at the Top of the Rockies Rally. [-o< A few of the guys on that forum have 1150R's also so it would be natural to see the 1150R's meet-up with them too. :-k If that doesn't work out maybe the MOA in Montana could be a Meet-Up for the 1150R's. 8) I know a lot of you don't travel as much as you once did but scheduling a Meet-Up might be what all of us need to get the old Oilheads lubricated. :smt115 Both are going to be great destinations with lots to take in visually. 8)

I've never actually done TOR but rode by it once when I was on an extended ride. I was wondering what all these BMW guys were doing there, found out about it later on. Sounds like one of the better events for a Meet-Up. I love riding in Colorado, not sure all the passes will be open.

Small town and set in really beautiful park.

Lots of tours during the week end for those that like to be guided or ride in a group. The Rockies are pretty good riding that time of year.

High altitude though so consider that if you have any lung ailments or other reasons that you should beware of altitude.

Also consider the BMW MOA rally in Great Falls MT. June 24-27,. $85 including camping and near by motel/hotel for those not the camping types.

Usually a big turn out for this one..(a little more friendly altitude wise!)

Will plan to make this one.

I still intend to get a Rockster/R1150R meetup in the UK at some point (there's plenty of old and new owners on the Rockster Facebook page), but that depends on if we ever get out of this pandemic.

Last year while returning from a visit to TX I met a guy on a Rockster ('04) !
Turns out we both bought in the same year ('04/blue and white) and we were born in the same year one day apart!

Birds of a feather...

Snow here in the mountains and the rock down for heavy maintence...
