Tail Bag

Post by swamper »

Bought a new Tail Bag today. I'm not a fan of top cases but needed something for some upcoming camp-outs this summer on the R bike.
It called, Sport 2 Soft Bag Large by BMW, and was $210.00 from A&S BMW Roseville California. They have it on their web site at $229.00 but will match internet price(Amazon). It fits the bike really well. Wish I knew how to post pictures here.

cool! same bag my shop had on the new 1200r, said they'd include it in the 17,900 price tag. to which I said, "gotta do better than a soft bag for 18 grand" LOL

but it was pretty sweet!

A&S BMW is where I bought it. It has been working very well. I used it on our ride up to Alaska and it is waterproof. I kept all my clothes in it and carried it into the motels every night. Ask them for a sales price???

THe bag looks huge. It lists the maximum weight that it can hold as 13 lbs. Seems like this limit will be easily exceeded. Thinking about getting something like this for my business travel where I would have a laptop & bunch of files/binders which will easily exceed 13 lbs. (especially with clothes, etc.). How robust do you think that this bag is for what I would intend to carry?

Stuff like that I'd personally prefer to carry in panniers. the lower the weight is the less it'll affect the bike's handling. paper is dense so can be very heavy.

Because the weight is so far back, that's like having a big passenger on the backseat. You won't like the feel of that in the handling.
If you do, put the heavy stuff at the bottom of the back.
