Riding in North Georgia, Southern TN, NC, Western SC

Post by MattnLA »

hi all,

so I am back here in Rabun County Georgia for the summer. But this time I brought my bike!!!!!!!!! I've been working a lot since I got here so haven't had the chance to do any really long rides, but I have been having fun zipping around fairly locally.

Its last minute, but I just found out I have all day off tomorrow and am definitely going to go out and really stretch my legs. Anyone of you in the area and free to meet up and ride? I would love an expert guide :D .

Of if not, any suggestions of which direction to take. I was planning on pointing the front tire north-ish and seeing where that leads me.

MattnLA,

My house is 61 miles and 1hr 18min away from the Raybun County Visitor Center. What about this Sat/Sun? There may be another OilHead rider in Clarksville to join us. Do you have a GPS on your bike? You are about 35 minutes from the Tail-of-the-Dragon and, even better, route 28. The area North of you is very good riding.

I would love to, but I work saturdays and sundays. I am out here working at a summer camp teaching woodshop. Wednesdays are my only days off. I know that its tough, but hey, I took a shot.

Was thinking of running up through Franklin then to Highland on the 64...riding under that waterfall and stuff. And seeing what twisty roads I can get lost on my way home. I would love some suggestions too.

Can't wait to ride tomorrow.
