Thumbs up for Valdi's Moto Zone in Torrance CA.
Bought new PR3's on the roadster today. Took the wheels over to Valdi's and he mounted and balanced them for $380. About $100 less than I paid at the dealer last time. He even cleaned the brake dust off of the rims! He is an independent BMW shop and was a pleasure to do business with.

You took the wheels off the bike yourself, all they did was mount and balance new tires? I'm not up on California prices but that sounds expensive for a 30 min job.

Yes, that did include both tires. Mounting and balancing was $20 a wheel. Tires were $315 total, plus taxes and state fees.
Last time, I took it to the dealer (wheels on) they charged my $550, so this was a bargain.

Good deal with tires included, I should have guessed
, that makes more sense. I have PR3's with close to 4k miles, so far they are holding up very well and they look like they have a lot of tread left.

PR3s...y'all think they're sorta "squishy?" I got good mileage from the 2, 3 sets I've had, but the road feel is soft. And they started slipping on tar snakes with 4k miles on them. Running Angel GTs now, better road feel mileage is close enough, I believe.

My PR2s lasted 15K miles, so I hope these do as well. The rear must have been pretty flat in the middle, and the bike sits noticeably higher now, and rolls into corners so much easier with a round tire!

My bike is about mid-way through its second set of PR3s; I like them very much. Now at 8K, beginning to get a bit flattened; I don't think they'll last as long as Scott's. There's an unmounted pair of PR4s in the garage, waiting.

10,000 miles ago I put on a pair of new PR3s; I just had to replace the rear. When I rolled into the shop, there was almost no tread left in the middle.
The front probably has around 1,000 more in it, I'll find out!
At least 3,000 of those miles were two-up, will full luggage and a tail bag. I'm also not exactly light on the throttle.
I'm pretty happy with the miles I got out of them. I'm definitely happy with how they wore compared to the Bridgestones that were on the bike when I bought it. No cupping on the front, and the rear didn't develop any really bad flat spots.

My PR3's - the rear was replaced at 16,000 miles. Still had tread but wasn't enough to want to go to Birmingham and back on. The front had about 12,000 miles. Also had tread and surprisingly little cupping (which PR2's liked to do..) I did both front and rear at the same time since it appears I can get at least a years worth of riding out of these tires. Interesting the great variation in mileage we all get. I just put on a new pr4 in the rear. The old pr3 was worn enough that I didn't dare do a weekend ride with it at 9,100 miles.
About cupping. The only front tire I've had hat doesn't cup is Avon. The pr3 front is cupped at the same 9,100 miles but I'm gonna try to get the summer out of it. Also, for the first time, I see cupping on the rear pr3. weird
I almost bought the new Avon until reading a thread on adv about how they new Storms fall apart. Guess I'll stick to the Michelin.
