R1150R Luggage

Post by Faster675 »

In looking at pictures of BMW Luggage on R1150Rs, it seems like some of them have the "tiny" bag on the left side ...
.... and some of them have a bag which is only slightly smaller than the right side bag

Were there two different sizes of bag available (STOCK) on R1150Rs ?

- what year is this bike ? Image

- any idea if it would have come with the "Tiny" left side bag ?

That looks like a 2004 or 2005.
The head will tell.
The one bag is smaller than the other to get around the raised exhaust can.

There are parts you can buy from the dealer that will make the muffler go straight back so you can run a full size bag on the left. I did it.

I've removed the original paniers and replaced them by Touratech / Hepco & Becker ones.
Her is my converted bike: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25656&bookmark=1&hash=8473ad9c
With the conversionkit from Zach Artikel-Nr. R21TKO you can lower your exhaust.
The package also contans a bracket that should go in between the left passenger footpeg and the frame.
With this bracket you can use the larger RT left hand side panier.
