disassemble and removal of turn signal

Folks,
Did a couple of searches but not luck. Maybe I am not searching the correct words. Anyway. How do you disassemble the turn signals on a 2004 R1150R. I was unsuccessful at removing the super glue (posted separately), so now I think I need to replace my rear turn signal. I need to know how to remove and disassemble the entire unit. Appreciate any help and guidance. Also if anyone has a lead on turn signals I'm all ears, the boneyard appears to be sold out.

It's a job I've been putting off because of it's complexity. I repaired a broken rear turn signal stalk with 3M's 5200...it's held for 5 years.

Thanks for the post link. Don't tell GypsyRR, but is there an easier way to do this replacement? Seems like you need to remove a lot of extra stuff just to swap out a turn signal. Also how does the turn signal actually come apart? How does the stalk separate from turn signal housing? Do these just pull apart, or are they twisted together in some way?
My problem is that I super glued the lens cover to the signal housing (a story for another time), and now the light is out. I am pretty sure it is not set properly in the reflector, so it my not even be a bad bulb at this point, a couple of good shakes gets the light to come back on, but once I hit bump it goes out again. Anyway if I can separate the signal housing from the stem maybe I can figure out a way to make the replacement without removing all of the plastic pieces.

I'll post a brief reply, but can add more if necessary. In short, so long as you are not removing the "stalk" of the turn signal, but only the lens housing, then you only need to remove: the lens cover, the bulb (gently push and turn), and then the screws holding the clamp/bracket near where the bulb inserts. The bracket/clamp holds the lens housing onto the stalk. You will also need to disconnect the wires that are on the base of the bulb socket; they easily slip off.

Of course, if the "stalk" is broken, then you will also need to undertake the lengthier process to remove it.

YES! I figured there had to be an easier way. The stalk is intact and does not need to be removed. I am thinking about taking a dremel to get the lens cover removed from the housing so that I can access the bulb and the insides to work on those screws.
Appreciate the insight.
