I have had great success with designing and selling things on http://www.cafepress.com.
No money down, no minimum order, you just design your own calendar and folks can then order them off their site. They make them and ship as they are ordered, no more involvement or work needed once it's designed by anyone here....

I would be more than happy to use my account and do the design once you guys pick the photos. I would sell them at cost of course, or if folks want we could do a slight mark up and donate all the proceeds to Doug for this site.... win win for all Roadster owners. We could add in various R1200R swag to order also...

Here's the calendar options they have:

Cafepress is the same service Rocket used on the previous calendars. Looks as if we have a winner.

Sounds good to me.. now all we need are enough people interested in a calendar to make it worth doing, and photos to be submitted and judged.

Perhaps we should contact Doug about seeing up a sticky thread to submit photos to..

I just did by reporting my own posting.. :)

I'm in for the design and using my cafe press account. I can set up a specific "store" with just the R1200R calendar.
Should I just have them sell them for cost, or would anyone mind if I tagged on $5 for each calendar to donate to R1150R.org? I will post up all the books from my account.

Maybe a thread with one judge would be easy... maybe even a non-R1200R owner, like Doug, as the judge.

Harry, google cafepress and coupon. There's usually a dealio.

While the calendars are gorgeous, and appear to make a little for the site administrator, the most direct way to show support for this forum is by becoming a paying member. The active, non-paying folks with 100+ posts just doesn't track -- feels chintzy.

Doug, if you're reading this, I wonder if you'd consider a calendar/membership dealio for those on the fence. Members get a pretty calendar, non-members get a pretty calendar and membership discount(?) and the forum becomes more financially robust. Everybody wins, no?

I hope to not make this into a big thing with wanting to try and make a fundraiser out if it too, though the idea has potential. :D
As websterize clearly put, everyone here knows how to show financial support for this great resource, some choose to do the right thing, others not so much.
It's tough enough to get everyone on board just to do the calendar, I will make a donation for each calendar sold myself.

Someone just needs to start a thread with calendar photo nominations, since that's what we need most to make a calendar. I was already thinking for one of the months, or the cover I could do a mosaic with every photo submitted so everyone gets their bike photo in print. ;)

We need a judge, or a way to simply count the votes. Then again since Don started this..... he could just decide what goes into that calendar himself.

That would be both fitting and appropriate seeing as he started this. (IMHO etc.)

I don't mind if Lost Rider puts on a few bucks to support the board. It is a service we are getting and I am sure any little bit will help.

I appreciate the offer to help generate some revenue for the site.. we're at that slow time of year again and I think we've only had a couple renewals this month and maybe 4 memberships last month. I think the tacking on $5 thing is easiest to manage on my end.

I'm down for a calendar btw.

Thanks for setting this up guys, just message me when I need to sticky the photo thread and vote thread.

I'll take one, and adding $5 is fine.
