Anyone built an autocom radio adapter to fit Yaesu VX-7R

Looking for info on building an adapter for a Yaesu VX-7R to the Autocom (Active Plus system) 5 pin radio plug in off the PTT switch and main Autocom unit.

Any ham radio or electronics wunderkind, your input would be most appreciated, not to mention any referrals to a knowledgeable source. My current radio is a Yaesu VX-7R (handheld submersible). In the past I was using a Kenwood TH-F6A which was a good radio but got soaked and went up in smoke,

I use an Autocom Active Plus system with my various bike to bike radio adapters. Autocom used to make an adapter, Autocom part # iL-V7, the part is no longer made.

I do have an extra Yaesu CT-91 adapter that could be modified along with multiple connectors for motorola 2-pin, kenwood 2-pin, and icon 2-pin radio adapters.

I picked up an all in one adapter for the Yaesu VX-6R and cell phone, so they might have one for the VX-7R.

It's my understanding the VX6R and VX7R have same pin-out for mic/acc plug. I have the 6 but have never tried m/m.

@ Twindave, Yup Motocom has an adapter, I've got that set up for a back up when the Autocom is acting up. I prefer the Autocom for it's background noise cancelling which the Motocom doesn't seem to do as well. Still hunting for the Autocom iL-V7 adapater out there that no one wants anymore... I Or with sweatmark's post I'll build one. I just have to figure out whether to butcher up a Kenwood or Icom adapter. Keith at Tulsa Truck thought the Kenwood but I know a chap who just plugs right into an Icom adapter with no issues. I just want to eliminate the middle connectors and have no or at least less impedance in the circuit.

@ Tower, when are you wheels up and rolling again on the R? I think the Yaesu 5, 6, & 7 all use the funky screw in (for waterproofing) 4 pole pin set up so all can cross over.

If Kenwood had ever waterproofed the THF-6A I would have bought another as it worked well. I found the Kenwood a bit easier to program then the Yaesu as well. After watching two Kenwoods go up in smoke I'd had enough. I'm finding that more of the bicycle race promoters that provide radios for the moto officials and marshals to work with are utilizing the newer digital stuff which the dual/tri/quad band hand helds don't talk to...

Confirmation on the Autocom radio adapter for Icom (2 pin) plugging directly into the Yaesu ct-91 spkr/mic adapter. Oh, it works very well by the way.

When I get around to fusing the two connectors together I'll post what wire goes to what pin in the Icom adapter for the Autocom radio adapter. Also what wire is what on the Yaesu spkr/mic adapter as well.
