LOWER SEAT FOR R1200R
Hi, I am looking for a comfortable low seat. Has anyone tried the Wunderlich models? Their standard one is 31 inches (0.5 inches shorter than BMW); but they also do a low one. Any info would be appreciated. Many thanks, Kenny.

even though its listed as 31inch, another user who purchased one has reported the seat felt higher then stock 2011 comfort seat

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects handlebars to the saddle.

Re: LOWER SEAT FOR R1200R
The BMW "standard bench" seat is advertised as 800mm. So is the "standard comfort" seat. But the comfort seat (which seems to now come standard on the 2011) is about 20-25mm lower. So, one way to get a lower seat is to swap a bench seat for a comfort seat. I did that and now my seat is too low.
The Wunderlich standard height seat looks similar to the stock bench seat, and the Wunderlich rep told me they were the same. I have one on order to try out.
That would make the Wunderlich standard seat higher than the "800mm" BMW comfort seat...which is 25mm lower than the "800mm" bench seat. Confusing stuff...

Re: LOWER SEAT FOR R1200R
Thanks for the info. My Comfort seat is the same height as the standard seat, i.e. 800mm, which is why I want a slightly lower one. Also bear in mind that some seats are wider in the inner thigh area which means the legs are spread wider, hence further from the ground.
Thanks, Kenny.
Thanks, Kenny.

Have you had both seats on the bike and measured them?sarge-the -cat wrote:Thanks for the info. My Comfort seat is the same height as the standard seat, i.e. 800mm, ....
I had both here in my garage, and despite the identical stated "800mm" measurement, the bench seat was 25mm taller than the comfort seat. The "high" bench seat is 60mm taller than the comfort seat.
Another way to think about it is that the comfort seat is 800mm with nobody on the bike. The bench seat is 800mm with a 180lb person on the bike.
