From Lurker to Owner - Another Newbie Checking In....

Post by 2wheelfish »

After much review on this Board I decided to pony up and see what all the hubub was about. Picked up the 2009 w/ pinstripes that was Oalvarez' bike on the "Buy, Sell" page. After it stayed for too long on the board (and with a couple of price drops) I could not resist. As with that movie "Catch Me If You Can" I just couldn't take my eyes off those pinstripes.

The bike is great so far, obviously I need a lot more seat time for a true review. Currently planning some of my own farkels for the future. Hmmm decisions, decisions....

One last note, about the seller. I'll grant some of his motorcycle buying/selling actions are different from a typical BMW owner, but really he's just an uber-enthusiast who doesn't fret too hard over changing his bikes out. This bike just didn't fit in his "stable", whereas it fits for me as a super-flexible "only" bike perfectly. I got a great deal from an honest guy on a bike that was exactly as advertised. Oalvarez, after I get some seat time in, I may be giving you a call to go for a ride sometime.

Thanks to everyone who contributes, it really helped teach me a few things about this bike to help make up my mind. I think my real education is just now ready to begin. And yes, a membership to this baord is in my future as well.

Dean, it was a pleasure meeting you and your wife, and it was even better seeing how happy you were with the motorcycle. Enjoy it in good health, thank you for the kind words, and I'll take you up on that ride offer any day of the week.

Regards and Happy Holidays!
