Avatars

Can anyone tell me how to shrink a photo down small enough to make a decent avatar out of it? By the time I shrink most photos down small enough they are almost unrecognizible.

You can use MS Paint.

Open Paint.
Hit "File" on the tool bar.
Select "Open"
find you pic and open it.
go to "Image" on the tool bar
select "Stretch/Skew"
In the horz & vert boxes type in a smaller number.

Hey Mark ... Ric's suggestion is the method I use to size down pictures for avators. Also I do a google search and limit the pictures by size... small.

OK, Look at Redwing's avatar, how easy it is to see and read. Now look at mine,; I had to shrink it down so small that you can no longer tell what it is. Any larger size was not accepted by the site. I was using Photoshop 7 to shrink mine.
Thanks

I found that pix on the internet already small. Do a search for small pictures.

Using windows?

WinXP Image Resizer
right click the picture(s) and pick the resizer. It will give you sizes to pick from or make a custom size.

Win7/Vista (XPClone)
