So, anyone have any R1200R or BMW related body work?
Seems I won a charity auction for $100 of tattoo time - it'll be my first.
Suggestions?

Re: tattoos
Hi,
I'm pretty heavily tattooed, and have no regrets after about 17 years of being tattooed. My personal opinion is to be careful getting someone else's logo tattooed on you. I'm not saying that you shouldn't.....It's your body. It's just not for me.

Re: tattoos
I have a tattoo that I don't regret but most everyone I know who has one regrets theirs. If you don't already have one don't get one. Pass the coupon on.

Well, I'm getting one. It won't be a corporate logo. Thinking maybe a design based on particle accelerator collision imagery. We'll see...

Re: tattoos
I got my first one in 1979, don't regret it yet but then I made sure that all of thones I have are covered by a short sleeve short. I think attitudes have definitely softened but as others have said be careful. If you want one get it, who really cares? I think if I were to get something R12R related it would be a sillhoet (sp?). Getting a logo would be about as dangerous as getting a girlfriends name done.

Re: tattoos
I'm also fairly heavily tattooed, arms only, gathered over 35 years and I don't regret a single one. That said, take your time and choose carefully. It's likely going to be with you a long time.
Two suggestions: 1) put it somewhere it can be easily covered. It goes without saying, a visible tattoo at a job interview isn't the best idea. 2) put it somewhere you can see it. Arms are good. Tattoos really should just be for YOUR pleasure, not to make a statement. If you can't see it, you don't derive much pleasure.
I love science based tattoos. Here's a good collection that may give you an idea or twol

Imaginary tattoo on page 13 is my next one.

Good on you. My suggestion would be to talk to the tatoo artist and see if they can offer you something that you might not think of. Just come up with so ideas to talk with them about and let them do the artistry. The good ones have amazing ideas when asked.

Re: tattoos
Mine are on my fore arms (my choice). Navy tatoos and I'm proud of em. I figure if people look down on me because of them that's they're choice. In this day of them being more mainstream I would suggest putting one in a place that can be covered. They can hurt your promotional chances in some work places. If I was younger I would like a small boxer twin somewere and a small HD v twin somewere ( not sure). Just My .02 cents, go for it!!!!

Re: tattoos
Mine is smallish celtic knotwork. The wife and I got matching tatoos. On my shoulder blade. I forget it is there. No big deal.

Tattoos are played out, man. When you start seeing soccer moms with little ponies and flowers inked on their arms and feet, the thrill is gone. Too late to the party.

That rings true. Be a real nonconformist. Don't get a tat at all!AllanCook wrote:Tattoos are played out, man. When you start seeing soccer moms with little ponies and flowers inked on their arms and feet, the thrill is gone. Too late to the party.

Do as YOU damn well please, your only here on one round.Just make sure the ink has no lead in it.It was a major question for my wife when she went for a MRI. The tat she has came on a trip to New Zealand. I found out MOST new inks do not contain lead. Just ask first. Enjoy
