Boots - BMW Allround vs Sidi Fusion vs Alpinestars Web Gore-

Post by aja1739 »

Hey there all- looking for a recommendation on a good all-around casual / touring boot. I currently have some Tourmaster Nomads, but am looking for a decent non-lace option in the $200 - $250 range. Can I get some opinions on the above choices? Thanks!
Ride safe & have a great day!

Last boot is the AS Web Gore-Tex, if it wasn't clear.

I've had the Alpinestar Web-goretex boots, and now am using the TCX X-five gore-tex boots. The AS web-gore-tex boots were great and very waterproof (until they wore out). They took a little while to "break-in", but otherwise a good boot. Never had any issues with them other than wearing them a lot and eventually wearing them out. The TCX boot seems to fit me better, and didn't take any break-in time - they were comfy from day one. Still waterproof and still comfy. I think the TCX are somehow VERY similar to the BMW allround boot (I read somewhere on the internet that TCX made the allround boot for BMW, or vice-versa).

If I were to buy another pair of boots right now, I'd buy the TCX boots again; only because they seemed to fit me better.

Thanks! It's funny, but I actually somewhat "decided" on the TCX boots last night, only to find out that EVERYBODY has them on "extended backorder"!! Geez.

So, I'm now considering these: Sidi Way Rain, Sidi Strada Evo Rain, and the A*. But who knows? It may change in the next hour! LOL.

I have the BMW Goretex boot, and the All Round boot. Both have been excellent. My feet have always been dry. And they are fairly comfortable for walking around

This is what I want for my next boot, Gaerne G-King. Waterproof, full length zipper, and it's something like 13.5 inches high. My Alpinestars are short and I've begun to dislike the shorter boot. My first pair were Sidi OnRoads and I really like the tall boot, although not the strap closures. I think the G-King might be perfect.

I don't get caught in the rain, I ride in it on purpose.

Thanks, everyone! Actually found a pair of TCX Matrix Gore-Tex boots at my dealer, who gave me a good "deal" on them since they are discontinued models. Fit perfect, and just what I was looking for! Happy camper. =D>
