Hi Coconut socks wearers !
I am still gearing up for the summer heat so I was wondering if someone tested those Coconut socks from Roadgear.com -> http://www.roadgear.com/Accessories/Soc ... ocks_Tall/ I usually wear rev'it touring tall socks which are sturdy, comfortable and really stay in place but I am sure they aren't the best in summertime...this is why I am looking for something else.
I have 2 questions about the tallest model:
1) Are they really managing well the sweat ?
2) Do they hold tight enough all day long and even after few handwashing ?
Wearing Vendramini boots marathon long boots with outlast fabric in it...I know I could pick something more breathy for Southern California but they are so confortable and their leather is GREAT !

These are not coconut and the name of the site (Cruiserworks) may cause some BMW sport touring folks to shy away, but these are the best hot weather socks I have found:
http://www.cruiserworks.com/MSOX.php
I have used these socks on touring rides throughout the hot and humid South. You can wash these socks in the hotel sink, wring out the excess moisture, hang them on the towel rack and they are dry by morning. I wear them with BMW Allaround boots and Ihave not had any side effects (blisters, etc.).
You can't beat the price for the value.

Thanks fastdog ! indeed they are very affordable compare to those Roadgear coconut socks that I can't find anyone to speak about, beside a webbikeworld review -->http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcyc ... nut-socks/
Those cruiserworks peoples make also a mock long sleeve with the same material... it seems like the same type of anti wicking fabric that Underarmor use, is it ?

I love these wicking shirts. I live in North Carolina and the heat and humidity is brutal in the summer. Cotton t-shirts don't wick. They just keep the shirt, filled with sweat, plastered next to your skin. I wear ATGATT, so I need a good base layer under my mesh jacket.
I can't say for certain if the Cruiserworks long sleve is the same as Underarmour. I have seen these wicking materials go by the brand names of "Cool Max," "Drilite," DryMax."
I have the Cruiserworks CoolRider shirt in short sleve and it is a "silky" material that is very pleasant next to the skin and does wick moisture.
Give them a call at Cruiserworks and see what they tell you.
Check out Silver Eagle cooling products for wicking shirts.

They have them in high-viz.
REI is another good source for wicking shirts.

Hi fastdog !
What is this heraldic on your profile picture ?
wondering from where ?
There is also smartwool.com --> https://www.smartwool.com/default.cfm?o ... gwodeCH0Fg
For summertime I wonder if the Microweight serie would be too hot despite the climate control capabilities that is claimed about Merinos wool.
They also make socks

Hi Frederic...
I use these (Tech Sox), and while they cost more than the Cruiserwork socks, I like them a lot. Really comfortable in hot weather with built in 'vents', and anti-microbial material. Great for travelling, two pairs is all you need to pack.

Re: Heraldic - Silver Hawk
Fred,
The silver hawk is the Waffentier of Merxhausen, Lower Saxony, the birthplace of my great-grandfather.
I visited the village in 2008 with my brother and my nephew. I researched my genealogy through the Lutheran Church records. I found some relatives who I didn't know about and they also didn't know they had any American relatives.
I thought the silver hawk was a neat coat of arms, so I decided to use it as my avatar.

Re: Coconut Socks ! (A forum thread of high excitments)
That's precious informations...thanks to all
I am trying to gather the right gears for everyday Urban motorcycling under summer weather. The ultimate "accomplishment" to me is too show up anywhere without helmet, bags and tons of gears in pockets.
Safety ! Lightness ! Comfort and elegance ! Just like a motorcycle rider that has just been dropped by his driver... very very light attributes and poo around him...is the ultimate goal.
Then comes also the heat & sweat managements issues and a minimal respect of business dress code...this is why I am also working on a weird hybrid long sleeved %100 cotton Fishnet shirt with a business collar shirt to wear under a vented summer jacket similar to a Black Rev'it turbine jacket.... and found peoples ! to make for me a cordura tie to match the material of the jacket.
Yeah ! yeah ! there is peoples who have time to think about that out there...
Thanks Mollygrubber...I didn't know this manufacturer I am sure that there is certainly a better alternative for summertime than my Rev'it touring socks....but anyway those rev'it touring are sturdy as hell, never fall down and are ok in summer but could do a better job I think.
Hey Bill ! that's interesting my family refer to a "similar" heraldic from an Irish clan that conquered Brittany France in 600 after Christ and stayed there almost a thousands year...same thing...one single animal over a colored field.
But well ! obviously for my Avatar
I managed to have the elegance to choose
a far less aristocratic picture

This Irish clan being quite hungry of lands made their heraldic to be redesigned in many variations according to conquests and alliances over century's in all European territory.
