I know you've been a big proponent of this for awhile now, guess it takes us (me, at least) awhile to see the light.
Now I'm wondering if removing the flare at the top would help even more.

And I still like the Hannigan...

Great minds and all that.. I've been thinking exactly the same thing, but can't figure out how to do it.Mollygrubber wrote:I'm using pretty much the same angle of attack, Don.

Well...? I'm dying of suspense - what was your idea?Ashveratu wrote:Thank you very much for the pics and in-depth description of what you have done. I think I be making a trip to my local hardware store so I can fab a set of those mounts for my shield as well. Ooooh, I just came up with an idea in my head.....will have to try it out. If it works, I will post pics, if not.....I will still post pics so others will not have to bother trying if they think like me
Here they are, in all their mal-focused, poorly exposed glory... I tell myself I'll go back and make them beautiful, but that probably won't happen. I guess I should have sanded them or something - pretty nasty close up. They are, however, mechanically strong. I used aluminum and not steel as I don't like rust.Mollygrubber wrote:Well, I stole your idea and fabbed up some similar mounts, stuck my 18" Cee Bailey back on, and wow what a difference!
It seems smoother the faster I go! Not perfect, but way more perfecter than it was...
I'll attach some pics of my (bad) fabrication job when I get a chance.
Thanks for the inspiration xprof!

Sorry about the suspense, I had a vision of something but the moment I got home and started looking at my bike, I lost it......I now have one of Don C's windshield raisers installed and I am very happy with it.Mollygrubber wrote:Well...?
