Topcase Lock

Post by Tlaloc »

My brother-in-law broke the flourescent red lock plate (or whatever it's called) of My R1150RS's topcase. I looked for a replacement part at the local BMW dealership on the BMW parts software with the salesman, came up with nothing.

The case is functional, except for not locking. I don't much like the looks of Givi and HB cases, nor a cable lock. And I REALLY don't want to buy a new BMW case.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

If your dealer couldn't find the part number, I'm sorry. Call Bob's BMW. 301-497-8949. They'll find it. May even have one in stock. It won't be cheap.

Those stupid orange tabs get broken with discouraging frequency (my husband has managed to "modify" the tab on one of my side cases. )

I found the part in Bob's catalogue. And you're right, it's $159. I do appreciate the suggestion.

For $69.00 + $10.00 shipping, you can have a nice Top Box 46 Litters model # 929
