Folks, a friend of mine went to the fuel station with his Ducati ST2 and was probably thinking about something else of more importance whilst refuelling. When his tank was full he thought that the unleaded super has a funny odor these days ... and then discovered that he had filled it up with diesel ... We really had a good laugh and since that event changed his nickname to Diesel-Bernie ...

Re: Funny fuel
How's it running?
Re: Funny fuel
Not running at all. Fortunately he discovered the same before he attempted to get going. Hence got the bike trailered to the dealer and the tank and fuel lines cleaned before refilling with the proper stuff ...

Re: Funny fuel
This seems to happen a lot to motorcycles. I've never heard of someone in a car doing this. Opposite of what I would expect.

Your friend is lucky to have caught the mistake prior to start-up. I have had lots of friends top their gas ranch trucks off with diesel, which is not near as bad as when they fill their diesel tanks with gas! Matter of fact, in February a friend managed to drive for about a week with a diesel tank fill with gas. They wondered why it took a can of starter fluid to get their rig running every time they turned it off.
