BRAKE LIGHT ON WHILE RIDING

my brake light came on and is staying on while i ride, i checked the brake fluid and is full
what could it be ? and what can i do about it?? thanks

Most likely a switch. I would check the rear brake switch first. Check to see that the lever is coming all the way back up, allowing the switch to open. Pull up on the lever to make sure it is coming all the way up. If anyone has messed with the lever adjustment, that might need to be readjusted. The front brake has a switch as well, it is in the master cylinder/lever assembly.

That front brake switch will stick if it gets dirty. All it needs is a little cleaning and some silicone lubricant sprayed in and around it. If everything is very quiet, you can listen for the little "click" as you engage and disenage the front brake lever. If you aren't hearing the "click", that's the problem.

Same thing happens to the rear brake switch, but its easier to get to and maintain/adjust.
