Death Valley Ride March 2009...

I had plans to ride up to Carmel this past weekend. However, after checking the forecast, rain cold wind, I reconsidered. Then, an offer came up to ride to Death Valley with members of some local riding groups. So I took them up on it and off we went. Highlights of the trip included: riding through a brush fire, seeing a pickup truck dangling off the side of a canyon wall, doing 130+mph across the desert, seeing a fascinatingly bad lounge act in a Beatty NV casino, lane-splitting 15 miles of parking lot on hwy 15 in insane cross winds, lots of good company and motorcycle chat, and incredible scenery. Nice!!! Thanks for the pictures. Death Valley is one place I have wanted to go. Thinking about setting off like Gypsy, towing the bike and setting out cross-country. This was on my list of possible stops. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Tobes. I always enjoy your photos. Slide show was cool too. Maybe I'll make it to Death Valley this year. I have my eyes set for the west again - more of AZ, and southern Utah though, and definitely California again one day. I covered Colorado pretty well already, so I'd skip it I think the next time around just to hit some of those great roads you guys have out there. It would take a long time to get my fill of riding in the west. Thanks. Beautiful photos as always.
