Leaking Brake Fluid

Post by keikic »

Hi all,
I have a 1996 r1100r that's leaking a little brake fluid from somewhere up in the resevoir/brake lever area. I can't find exactly where it is but I'm getting droplets on the tank and right side bag from the wind. Any ideas where I start looking ? Is it the master cylinder?

Thanks!

Is there dampness around the perimeter of the m/c cap (held on by 4 philips screws)? If so, try tightening and if that doesn't work you need a new boot #12.

If not, it will most likely be leaking past the boot #8 shown here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=32&fg=10 and it means you need a repair kit or new master.
