Helmet Holder?

Helmet Holder?
Is there something out there that will hold a helmet to the side of the bike? I know they make em for holding a helmet on top of the side cases. But i'm looking for something like the crotch rockets use, a hook or something that mounts under the seat. I was hoping they make something like that, but if not, i guess I'll have to make one. Anyone?
See, I told you guys, half the time I dont know what I'm talking about.

Re: Helmet Holder?
Rocksters don't already have a helmet hook?
Re: Helmet Holder?
There is a helmet lock, but no helmet hook. Unless I'm missing it somewhere

Re: Helmet Holder?
There must be a subtle difference that I've never noticed.
Anyways, I usually just flip down the cu...I mean passenger peg and hang it there, if I'm not worried about somebody stealing it or pissing in it.

Re: Helmet Holder?
I have seen an extender that is shaped like a "T" with a hole at the bottom to put on the lock. Is that what you after? If so, I have made something you will like and I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

Re: Helmet Holder?
Lookin for something that will hold the helmet WHILE riding. I rarely ever ride without a helmet on my head, but sometimes if i'm just planning on going down the street, I'd like to bring it in case my plan changes and i feel like going for a longer ride. I usually use a bungee net when solo, but would like something else if the S/O is on back.

Johnny----Be good to yourself and your lovely lady-- don't take a chance by riding without a helmet. In my first accident in 11/07 I was hit by another car and I simply went straight up in the air several feet and straight back down flat on my back. I hit flat on my back and my head bounced off the pavement. My helmet took it all and I barely felt a thing (with my head). If I hadn't been wearing the helmet I have no doubt I would not survived without serious head trauma or worse.
Second accident moving only 3 to 4 mph which I told you about (broken leg) Head still hit the pavement. Helmet took it all again. I will not ride without one. Even to move bike around a parking lot. Most parts of our bodies will survive an impact and recover fully in time. Your head will not.
Want to be sure to see you and your lady again next year at the bash.

Re: Helmet Holder?
I had a severe head injury in an auto accident. Wayne is correct about the survivability of an un-helmeted head. I used to be handsome, witty, and extremely intelligent (almost brilliant). Now I 'get' NASCAR and hang out with a biker gang.

Re: Helmet Holder?
I really do appreciate all the concern about the helmet issue. But as many of you may have noticed already, I have already been diagnosed with medium to severe brain damage, so another shot to the melon wont be too much more noticable
. 99.9% of the time I do wear a helmet, but when I go bar hopping with the Hardly guys, we usually dont ride for more than 1/8th of a mile at a time before stopping at the next bar and shorts, flip-flops and a tanktop dont really go with a helmet:^o . So I guess that means no one makes something to hold the helmet while riding huh?

Re: Helmet Holder?
Johnny even short trips can end badly. Many years ago I raced WERA with a top racer, had number 1 plate in many divisions, he went for a ride to hear his engine better; with out a helmet. His bike left the road near his house and his head hit a tree separating his brain into two halves. I never have ridden even short distances without one, if it could happen to him ,just think what poor rider like me could do.

Anytime
. Although only if we wear matching speedos and mesh belly shirts.
K. you guys know I was kidding about the bar hopping thing right
Sometimes my sarcasm gets mistaken for sincerity. But I'm dead serious about the speedo and mesh belly shirt

Re: Helmet Holder?
We never used to call it "bar hopping". I my youth it was known as TT racin'...Tavern to Tavern.
Re: Helmet Holder?
Who needs flip-flops?
Go barefoot. If you're gonna do it, go all the way.
You can always bungee the flip-flops to the pillion when you get to the bar (darn 'no shirt-no shoes-no service anyway!)
Cheers! (Literally!!)

I usually sport the black or brown socks with the sandals while riding. So gotta keep the sandals on, or the socks will get holes in em
