If possible, try to avoid filling the tank completely and then parking in the sun all day. I think that the expansion of the gas that takes place can "back up" into the cannister and result in odd running patterns. I don't have any proof of this so far, just some unexplained coincidences. I've had no more problems with erratic idle since I started paying attention to this.

Thanks for all the recommendations and fixes. Been in Fairfax, VA this week and noticed there are BMWs everywhere up there, alot more than here at the beach. I will try some fuel injector cleaner and look for some shade. Be safe.
